A friend of ours recently purchased Samsung's Galaxy Tab and he's all hyped about using the device for his panoramic photography. He's trying to tell us how anyone can take high quality seamless panoramas without having high functioning software or the latest camera system and that he added his Galaxy Tab alone can do that exactly. Taking Panoramas Using Your Galaxy Tab
Samsung Galaxy Tab has dual 3 megapixel cameras built in it. The back camera has LED flash that pretty much take decent shots too like your regular point-and-shoot camera. First, open the pre-installed camera application in your device and please make sure you are in photo mode and not video mode which my friend did unintentionally... twice. You will then see a button at the top left corner that has a panorama option that you should select by tapping. By this time, you will be able to see a large camera button in your screen. Tap it on the right side then begin shooting. In shooting, move clockwise slowly. There will be box that will guide throughout the 8 image shooting. Also, in our experience you should definitely maintain a steady hands in shooting to avoid a blur panorama. The Galaxy Tab will take a second or two in stitching and processing your panorama and will provide you with a resolution of 3552 x 496. However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has no macro mode of photography nor HD video recording. Bummer, huh? It's motion capture on the other hand is very impressive unlike those you have experienced poorly in Galaxy S phones. Other devices that does high quality panoramas are the Verizon and Sprint tabs. They both have quite an impressive software too that process seamless panoramas instantly.
What's more interesting is that these devices provide us a single-click panorama photography experience, meaning after the initial pic, the device does the rest of the shots for you. You just have to guide it to the next angle, following the green rectangle box.
