Are you an iPhone user? Earn big time!
Bing has chosen Gigwalk, developer of the first on-demand mobile workforce to bring 3D Photosynth Panoramas into Bing Maps. Gigwalk will provide their Gigwalk iPhone app free for users to download and complete the tasks of $4 and $7 for each 20-minute photo project or also known as "Gig."
Although Gigwalk is just a new 9-week old company, David Gedye of Bing said in their press release that, "By combining Gigwalk’s tech-savvy mobile force with our popular Photosynth app, we’re able to add immersive panoramas to Bing local search results, so people can accurately see the details of a business such as a store or restaurant. Gigwalk’s network delivers high-quality results, often within 24 hours, and that’s hard to beat." Gigwalk even in their infancy days has been rolling out 100,000 "Gigs" and counting with their existing A-list partners such as Tom-Tom, MenuPages and just recently Bing. "For Bing, Gigs use Microsoft’s Photosynth app, which offers a powerful set of tools for capturing and viewing the world in 3-D, letting Gigwalkers take 3-D and panoramic photos of retail stores and restaurants so they can be accurately represented in Bing Maps results," Gedye added.
Bringing 3D Photosynth panoramas of retail stores and restaurants into Bing Maps spcifically, Bing has long time been interested in user contributed content and Gigwalk is just perfect for this. They have also recently debuted their Shopping Mall maps and a further advanced StreetSide in 3D that shows even the interiors of the retail stores not to mention archive videos and a couple of demos too. "We turn iPhones into a second paycheck and instantly connect businesses to the talented Gigwalk community workforce to do Gigs using the Gigwalk iPhone App," Gigwalk's headlines in their website. Pretty interesting, don't you think?
