The Jane's Addiction Band's 3D Documentary & Live Streaming with LG Mobile

Online streaming isn't new to us, however even if we've been a part of different live streamings already, this technology never fails to impress us everytime. Last July 25, the band Jane's addiction did an online live streaming performance at the JKF Airport Terminal 5. It is a user-generated concert broadcasted on YouTube to be later broadcasted on YouTube 3D. However what really got our attention was their announcement regarding their on-going creation of 3D Documentary using fan footage captured from the performance using LG Thrill 4G devices.

Tim O’Brien, VP of marketing for LG Mobile said that, "Jane’s Addiction concert was not only a great show from a visual and performance standpoint, it also illustrated the benefits of capturing life’s remarkable experiences in 3D. When LG and YouTube premier the world’s first 3D user-generated concert, music and technology fans as well as the general public will see that 3D enabled mobile devices are the next step in the evolution of entertainment.”

It will be cool to see our faces flaunted in Jane's Addiction 3D documentary launching on the 4th of August but you know what's even more cool? It's in 3D!

We're very grateful that more and more music artists and even companies from other industries utilize this amazing technology cost-effectively increasing their online fans or market. Black Eyed Peas probably pionered this streaming, 360-degree music video with their BEP360 music app earleir this year. Today, we have Canadian rock band Arcade Fire with Google and Chris Milk, recently launched an interactive video set for the band's "We Used to Wait" track. This 360-degree interactive music video uses Google's map and StreetView to incorporate images of the user's location while having the music in the background.
