Throwing Camera to Enjoy 360 Degree Photography

Yup! You heard it right. You need to throw a camera up in the area to take a 360 degree shot in seconds!

You might find this absurd at first but if you get to know the real concept behind this camera system, it is definitely mind blowing. See even with today’s high tech instant 360 degree cameras, creating one quality panorama still requires time and hard work especially with the alignment, editing, and processing. Spherical panorama for example is difficult to capture especially the downward part if you have your camera mounted on to a tripod. Taking a panorama with moving subjects is as hard for it may cause ghosting in the end.

Talk about bringing 360 degree photography up to another level, brilliant researchers in Berlin created an ingenious Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera that captures a panorama in a single shot; capturing an image at the highest point of flight. The Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera does not need any alignment, editing, or processing from its user as it does these things automatically as it takes images instantaneously. Also in case you are wondering, ghosting in moving objects is never a problem with this genius camera.

The Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera is powered with 36 fixed-focus 2 megapixel mobile phone cameras enclosed in ball shape figure padded with foam. It also has a high quality accelerometer to measure launch acceleration. When the camera figures out its highest point, it triggers exposure and by the time it is in the hands of its photographers, all images are being process and instantly show you your 360 degree image.

A very playful way to take 360 degree photography, the results are very similar to Google’s however the Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera’s a bit more creative and easy to make. :)
