Google 360 Degree Maps For Android Boosting e-Commerce Industry

Even with the dominance of Apple in the industry, other mobile and technology companies are on their own winning streak this year. Google for instance has their Maps for android application into the e-Commerce industry by allowing users to see the interiors of stores to get a glimpse of new product collections without leaving their homes.

Of course there are thousands of other things Google’s set to shoot out Apple Dominance however the Android Map App feature gets huge appreciation for the e-retailer industry especially because they can target more shoppers this time.

According to Clint Boulton, tech writer for eweek.com, “Think of it as Google bringing its vast online mapping software tools, which to date have been used to graph both digital and real-world footage, indoors to help mobile device users get a handle on what's around them in large structures.”

The new Google 360 degree Maps 6.0 for Android will provide in depth floor plan presentations of stores right on your pones and tablets. The stores featured in this app are Macy’s and Ikea, the Mall of America in MN, USA, including airports like the San Francisco International Airport.

According to Steve Lee, Google Product Manager, "Any venue can use this self-service tool and upload their floor plan themselves. We hope starting now and throughout 2012 this will accelerate adoption of this by venues. Hopefully other venues see the value that our launch partners have to their customers and visitors."

Like Macy’s, stores and other e-commerce organizations who like to use the Google Maps for Android may got to Google Maps Floor Plans, locate their stores on the map, and then upload their floor plan pictures, blueprints, or even directories. You can then line up your floor plan with satellite images in Google Maps.
