Panoramic Cam Ball Incorporated Into Helmets for Effective Collision Investigation

You know there is a good and logical reason why Plato said that “Necessity is the mother of invention”. For example, Alexander Graham Bell and his telephone invention; He invented it because there is an evident need for instant, long distance communication. This fact still holds true in the 21st century. There was a need for single click panorama photography system hence, the panoramic ball cam that we featured a week ago. This robust pano camera system is thrown in the air to capture an aerial view in 360 degree. It captures everything in all angles right after  it reaches its highest point. Simply easy, all you need to do is download 36 series of images to your PC and a software will stitch them together to create a high resolution 360-degree panorama.

However another need arises after this wonderful invention has gone public earlier this month. The need for a camera system that can capture an overhead panoramic view of a road traffic accident where everything is recorded from “how it happened” to “after it all happened.” The underlying need may also be the difficulty for cyclists to prove a motorist is at fault in the case of a collision.

There is more to fancy 360 degree photography all along. Ideas came up on how to use this magical panorama ball of a camera to improve collision investigation in the streets. One is to incorporate the ball camera into the shell of a customized helmet of a rider/cyclist to record everything – real time video, streaming, or stop motion photography, etc. Another idea is in the event of a collision; the panorama ball camera will be fired into the air and captures everything in split second after the impact of collision.

We need more of these ideas. Can you drop us an email if you can think of one? This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
