Xbox have taken the gaming world to a new heights by introducing there latest project called “Project Natal”. This new technology has ensured that the players don’t need controllers anymore to play action games in-fact motion sensing control system of Xbox 360 leaves no room for controls at all. The motion sensing control system of Xbox 360 is just like a USB device capable of sensing even the smallest movement that you make. The device comes with a camera, depth sensor, microphone and special software that produce a 3D map of body movements. This software is capable of voice recognition, tracking commands, tracking changes in the tone of the player, as well as the directions that the player wants to move in. Another advantage that this software have over other such similar voice recognition software is that is adjusts according to the pattern of speech of the player. Let’s say that you are playing as a monster in one of your favorite games and roar at the top of your lung while moving left and right then your monster will do the same in the game mimicking your actions. With the help of “Project Natal” you can easily become a football player, compete in skateboard competitions, watch movies or even go shopping for your favorite dress. Say you want to compete against one of your friends in a skateboard game but you wish to use your own skateboard for the purpose then you can achieve this by a simple “scan” command and placing your skateboard in front of the scanner. The scanner will then scan your skateboard and produce an exact replica of your skateboard which you can enjoy while playing online. “We are always asking ourselves how to make the TV more social,” said John Schappert, a senior vice-president at Microsoft. “By bringing Facebook, Last.fm and Twitter to the Xbox 360, we’re not only extending the walls of your living room beyond your home to your friends in different corners of the world.” There are other companies who are also planning to launch similar motion-sensing control system including Sony and Nintendo. Some are even wondering if something similar will be launched for the PC as well. Let’s wait and watch where this new technology is going to take us! |
