With all the threats and sky high cost of travelling, 3D video conferencing has gained popularity. This not only save millions of dollars per year but also keeps life safe from terrorist threats as well as save precious time that can be invested in another assignment or project or client. With every passing day more and more companies are realizing the true potential of video conferencing. It is expected that by 2015 3D video conferencing will have a sales of almost $2.7B as compared of the $64 million in 2006. Although video conferencing is the ideal solution for small companies however companies who are trying to find ways to cut the travel cost are taking full advantage of this new technology as well, especially in the European Market. But the Asia Pacific region is not far behind in the usage of video conferencing. Frost and Sullivan predicted that Asia Pacific will grow at 64.4% by 2010 and hence touch the revenue of $73 US million. Cisco, HP, Adobe, Microsoft and Polycom are just few examples of companies targeting different types of companies in the market. Cisco, HP and Polycom prefer to offer their video conferencing services to the bigger companies whereas Microsoft is targeting the small and medium sized enterprises. But whatever the case is, all of these companies are offering high definition video, true-to-life images, surround sounds and many other fine end services to their customers. However, these are not the only companies offering 3D video conferencing services to enterprises in the market. There are other new entrants in the market that are offering the same quality services but at a much lesser cost. Actis Technologies is one such company that recently launched their 3D Telepresence solution with special emphasis on features like top end solutions, multi-location room control, room scheduler, touch based control interface and high tech sensors. The features are so sophisticated that a 3D handshake is the exact replica of an actual handshake that might take place between two associates. The result of all the advancement in 3D video conferencing is that business associates can now discuss, view and edit same document and interact with each other just like in a real life meeting without the barrier of thousands of miles. |
