Photo editing at home is becoming an easier task day by day thanks to all the new software available in market these days. However, each software has its own unique tools and features which sets them apart from others. Some software are excellent are designed specifically for beginners while others are meant for those who have a bit experience in photo editing and thus like to do the editing themselves. Paint Shop Pro 8 and PhotoSuite 5 are two such software. Both of these software are meant for making photo editing easier but the difference comes due to the fact that one allows manual editing while other offers automatic photo editing. Most novices prefer PhotoSuite 5 due to its easier to the fact that it offers automatic editing. This “icon-rich” software is easily available in the market for $50. Each icon is a large labelled tab with pictures and text. However there are several downsides to the automatic editing offered by PhotoSuite 5. For example let’s say you wish to present an output resolution in Preferences. The automatic feature of this software automatically adds interpolated pixels to it sometimes. Almost all image editors won’t like this feature because almost always this results in horrible pictures. On the other hand is the Paint Shop Pro 8. Although it offers several automatic features but not necessarily in the way you expected. For example let’s say you want to us the Auto Color Balance feature of this software but when you click the icon it will not automatically give you the desired result. Instead you will get several pop ups for you to choose various settings manually. The randomizer button will then mix up all your selected settings so that you can get the desire effect. Another advantage that Paint Shop Pro has over PhotoSuite is that it has scripting capabilities. It allows editing of a batch of images in one go just as if you were fixing one image. You can use the batch-processing feature with only a small subset of its editing feature. |
